The Sifting

Pictured is one of the bowls my mama used to make her cakes at Christmas. She loved to bake for all of us at Christmas. Beside the bowl is my mother-in-law’s measuring cup. She loved to make pies for our enjoyment. They sifted many of cups of flour in their day making biscuits, cakes, and pies. Both are now rejoicing in Heaven. I am glad they are not here to experience the troubles that we all have gone through in 2020. Truth is I know my mama would have dealt with it a much better than some of us. Her wisdom and patience would have shown on brightly during this time.

There is a sifting that is taking place right now. It may look like God is not hearing our prayers, but in the midst, He is doing sifting some things to prepare the way for our answered prayers. During the sifting you may not see what is going on, you may not see the final results in the process, but He is removing the unwanted debris out of the situation, the situations that have placed you in a box, that has placed walls around you preventing you from going forward in this season. He is removing the undesirable debris that has been embedded that has prevented the outcome of a beautiful product/outcome. This is true for many individuals as well as our nation.

When flour is sifted, it removes lumps/debris and it also make the flour lighter in order to have a lighter, tastier cake. It takes time for the sifting to take place. So, hold on, endure the sifting as the unusable debris will be revealed and discarded. That which remains is good and will be used for the divine purposes of God!
Shalom,
Terry
